About the event
Following the successful production of “Mrs Hawke Goes West” at Keystone in September 2023, Bathurst Theatre Company now presents another 1920s mystery set in Bathurst. Lizzie Hawke is a war widow who served in as a nurse in England during the Great War. She worked in a pharmacy alongside her good friend, Agatha Christie, and some of Agatha’s passion for crime must have rubbed off as she helped the Bathurst Police solve the murder of Colonel Charles Savile. In the first episode she was working as a housekeeper but now she’s returned to nursing at Bathurst Hospital where she is soon involved in more mysterious goings on. Written by Phil Sanders, the play stars Shane Porteous (A Country Practice) and Peta Toppano (Prisoner) plus a cast of talented local actors.
