DUDE
26 August 2023

Postponed
In an age of dad bods, mumma’s boys and bussy pops, people all over the country are sitting contemplating in their back sheds and laying in the bottom paddocks staring up at the stars, asking themselves, what is it that makes a man a real DUDE these days?
So who better than two really queer performers to plough into the nitty gritty and get the dirt on the meta-masculine?
Very gay Drag Things Clint Taurus and Trey Taurus let it all flop out on stage in a cabaret-style night of drag, dance and daring that digs deep into the many flavors of contemporary manliness.
Watch as they tackle this quest head on, delving deep into their DNA to ask Y, chromosome?

Just a Song at Twilight. By Phil Sanders

Life is short: get your tickets before it’s too late
Gerry Sorley, an Australian studying at Cambridge University, reads Seneca's "The Shortness of Life" as part of his philosophy degree. He knows he’s being indulged by his father who will insist on him joining the family firm soon, and he’s determined that, when he does, he will do things 'ethically.' It is the summer of 1976 and Gerry joins fellow students and best friends, Tim and Judith, to sing old music hall songs for fun in the back rooms of pub. This leads to their finding a spot in the Edinburgh Fringe by which time Gerry and Judith are falling in love.
40 years on and Gerry (Gerald), now the Chairman of Stratagem Mining, feels the need to find a copy of Seneca's book and, this time, finish it before it’s too late. Gerald has followed the line of least resistance, playing off his ethical principles against the demands of business. What price is ethics when the share price hits the floor?

As you know, the performing arts industry can be competitive and exclusive, and the Bathurst Theatre Company wants to bridge the gap by creating a supportive and inclusive space for all creatives. Their goal for this event is to showcase the wonderful talent of each and every performance company in the Bathurst area.
They are organizing an open performance afternoon where companies or individuals can promote their businesses and/or upcoming performances and show off their skills. It will also be a great opportunity for those who have never performed before to get on stage and break the performative ice.
This event is not a competition but rather a celebration of our shared love for performing. This will be a free event to attend for audiences, however there will be a small entry fee from performers to help cover insurance and venue hire costs. $5 entry fee for solo acts, $10 entry fee for duos/group acts.
